Reference to the poet Revius

Metadecor realized the façade cladding of the new De Revius Leeuwarden car park on Reviusstraat / Tesselschadestraat. The design has formed a reference to the poet Revius and the goal of giving the place more value by facilitating parking, making it a pleasant, green place to stay.

Aluminum facades, with MD design perforation with a floral pattern, a nod to a poem by Jacobus Revius (1586-1658) "Schoon is het goud". During the day the motif gives a special light pattern on the inside. In the evening, the bronze-colored façade provides a friendly and not annoying lighting, like a table lamp. Below you can see the floral pattern and its perforation pattern.

The main shape is efficient and simple, a garage with pleasant outdoor areas where you can have lunch among the flower beds, for example. The garage will mainly be used by the staff of the adjacent work buildings, but is also accessible to visitors to the city.  The garage was put into use in the summer of 2019.

We provided the facades of De Revius Leeuwarden parking garage with MD Design perforated cassettes with a floral pattern, making the parking garage a natural backdrop within the green zone. LED lighting and natural ventilation ensure minimal operating costs.

Auxiliary construction and fastening
The auxiliary construction is based on the MD Resto principle, consisting of type DER116 with a horizontal U-profile and required U-brackets made of material Magnelis. The auxiliary construction is provided with the surface treatment powder coating in standard Ral color. Mounting brackets are attached to the existing steel structure by third parties. In consultation with Metadecor, this is provided with the required mounting holes.

Aluminum panels
The panels of the De Revius Leeuwarden parking garage are MD Design perforation type MD DE120 consisting of 3 mm aluminum. Panels are double converted around and provided with a perforation pattern according to proposal. Dimensions of the panels are approx. H x W = approx. 4,000 x 1,200 mm. Panels are provided with anodizing in an Alugold 01 color. Attachment of the panels is semi-blind to horizontal profiles of the auxiliary structure.

Glass and aluminum
Panels for the glass are provided at the entrance. In order to be able to clean the glass, Metadecor has devised a special system with gas springs, making it easy to open during maintenance.
