PARKING LOT ZEEMAN HQ, ALPHEN AAN DEN RIJN, THE NETHERLANDS

Architect: Fennis-Metz Architecten │ Client: Aan de Stegge Twello │ Project date: 2016

New parking for Zeeman headquarters

The first Zeeman store was opened by Jan Zeeman in March 1967 in Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands. Since then, Zeeman has seen huge international growth. The Zeeman distribution center has always been in Alphen aan den Rijn, and this facility has now adapted to the company's current needs for appearance and sustainability. One of these requirements was an extended parking lot, with 158 spaces, mostly for employees.

Metadecor created an MD Designperforation facade, using maintenance arm perforated panels. These are made from magnelis, and each panel has a unique pattern. Magnelis contains 3,5% aluminum and 3% magnesium, which ensures the whole surface has a stable and sustainable coating.

Magnelis offers far superior corrosion resistance than panels with a lower content of magnesium. It has a natural dark gray colour. Providing cutting edge protection, after punching or cutting there is no need to zinc the material again, so it can be applied straight away.
