Architect: Finishing Dutch│ Photography: Niels Brokaar & Jeroen Musch│ Jaar van realisatie: 2018

Better flow on road and water thanks to new control center

With a new 24-hour bridge operator, the Province of Noord-Holland wants to improve traffic flow on the waterways. At the location where the Support Center for Road Maintenance is now located, more than 40 bridges and locks will be operated remotely. The outdated support center is completely renovated for this purpose.Facade Control center for bridges and locks Heerhugowaard copyricht Brokaar

The control center is made up of two volumes. Metadecor has realized a glossy, perforated facade of MD Formatura for the raised and projecting volume. The pattern is inspired by the ripples of the water. At the same time, the facade ensures that the incident daylight is regulated. According to the architect, light also plays an important role in the interior, in which the use of natural materials predominates.
