Strong unity
Multifunctionality is key to the new stadium in Helmond. The campus will be the home base of Helmond Sport and the Praktijkschool Helmond. There will also be a NOC*NSF sports hall (merger of the Dutch Olympic Committee and the Dutch Sports Federation), several gymnasiums and accommodation for SV de Braak and JVDI de Fysioclub.
The MD Lamel 'curtain facade' brings the whole together, giving the building a strong unity. This curtain is shaped by powerful, golden-brown facade styles that give the building stature and dynamics. These facade styles are separate from the physical facade and give the building an iconic flared main shape. They move with the entrance openings in the facades and the various entrances to the stadium, thereby strengthening the dynamics of the whole.
Assembly and specifications
The MD Lamel type LA200 consists of aluminum profiles with dimensions of 300x100x3 mm. The slats are mounted vertically with a center-to-center distance of approximately 1,500 mm. We provide the slats with the necessary mounting points so that they can be firmly attached to the facade. They have an anodization of 60µm in 20µm in the standard anodizing color AluGold03 (E6). This ensures a durable and corrosion-resistant finish of the aluminum.
We supply cover plates and fasteners for this type of MD Lamel. These are made of stainless steel (SS) A2 and have the same color as the slats. Stainless steel A2 is a commonly used material that is resistant to corrosion and weather influences. The maximum length of the slats is 8,750 mm. We cut them to size according to the specific dimensions of the facade.
